Brookfields School - a little about us.
Brookfields School is a thriving and dynamic special school in West Berkshire
offering an ‘outstanding’ (OfSTED 2007) education for pupils aged from 2 to 19
who have a learning difficulty. The school is able to offer tailored education
programmes to meet the unique and individual needs of pupils with Moderate,
Severe or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. In addition to a learning
difficulty, some of the pupils we support may have additional needs such as ASD,
ADHD, sensory impairments or a physical impairment.
We deliver our pupil centred approach through the school's multi-disciplinary team
consisting of the parents, class room staff, speech therapists, physiotherapists, OT
and school nurse. We are a highly regarded resource offering a cutting edge
approach to the education of pupils with ASD through P.L.A.Y and also to pupils
who have sensory impairments through the school's Sensory Resource.
The school is unique as we have a range of services available for parents and
professionals to use such as our highly regarded training courses; our Outreach
and Consultancy Service, where we are able to offer advice and support for
statemented pupils in a mainstream setting; support from qualified and highly
skilled staff outside of the traditional school day.
